MERSEN STRENGTHENS ITS PARTNERSHIP WITH LONGI ON CHINA'S SOLAR ENERGY MARKET

PARIS, JANUARY 8, 2018 – Mersen (Euronext FR0000039620 – MRN), a global expert in electrical power and advanced materials, has won a contract with Longi, one of the Group's historical partners.

The accelerated increase in the installation of solar panels worldwide, driven in particular by China, requires investment in new solar cell production capacity.

Longi, one of the world's leading manufacturers of high-efficiency mono-crystalline solar modules, is therefore investing in new production furnaces at three sites in China, for which Mersen will supply premium-quality graphite parts. The Group is one of the rare market players capable of meeting the manufacturing requirements for this type of technology which uses large, high-purity products.

The two-year contract for over €10 million per year is primarily intended to equip the new furnaces. Deliveries began in the fourth quarter of 2017.

On the solar energy market, Mersen's expertise extends from the manufacture of graphite parts and insulation materials for polysilicon and solar cell production to electrical protection for panels and power conversion.

The solar energy market currently represents over 5% of total sales.
