MERSEN BOLSTERS ITS POWER ELECTRONICS OFFER

WITH THE ACQUISITION OF FTCAP

PARIS, MAY 30, 2018 – Mersen (Euronext FR0000039620 – MRN), a global expert in electrical power and advanced materials, hereby announces the signing of a purchase agreement for the acquisition of FTCap, which specializes in the development and production of capacitors.

The operation will enable the Group to broaden its current range of high-speed fuses, cooling devices and laminated bus bars to capacitors, all of which are key components in the design of efficient, highperformance power electronics systems. It will also strengthen Mersen's position as a preferred partner for the global power electronics market.

Power electronics components are required for a number of Mersen's target markets, from energy (solar, wind, etc.) and transport (e-mobility, aeronautics, rail, etc.) to process industries (motor drives, converters, inverter, etc.).

Based in Husum in Germany and Yverdon in Switzerland, FTCap has more than 70 years of experience in the development and production of capacitors used in diverse industries. Their product spectrum includes both film and electrolytic capacitors. The company employs around 200 people and generated revenues of close to €20 million in 2017.

The transaction which is subject to customary approvals should be completed by the end of the summer.
