Carbone Lorraine has bolstered its position in the chemicals and pharmaceuticals equipment market by acquiring French company Lumpp.

With its extensive range of stirrers in a large range of materials, including reactive metals, Lumpp (2008 sales: €7.6 million) is a widely recognized player in the industrial stirrer and mixer market.

Through this acquisition, Carbone Lorraine is extending its range of anticorrosion equipment by adding stirrers to its line of reactors. It will thus consolidate its leadership position in the phosphoric and acetic acid markets by offering integrated solutions.

The combination of both companies will also enable Carbone Lorraine to strengthen its offering to phosphoric acid producers in North Africa, Middle East and China. In particular, Lumpp will use Carbone Lorraine's production workshops in Morocco and China to manufacture its stirrers.

This acquisition fits with the Group's profitable growth strategy based on strengthening its leadership position in its expanding markets.
