For the second year in a row, Carbone Lorraine has received the award for the Best corporate governance among French mid cap companies. This prize was bestowed at the Midcap Trophies (Trophées Midcaps) event held for the past four years by Ernst & Young, MiddleNext, Oddo Midcap and NYSE Euronext. Eligible groups included all the non-financial companies listed on Euronext with market capitalization of between €50 million and €1 billion, representing 162 companies.
This award represents recognition for the quality of Carbone Lorraine's internal control and risk control, as well as for the quality of its governance structure.
Carbone Lorraine has implemented effective internal control systems giving it a tight grip over its operations. During 2008, the Group carried out its third risk mapping review by analyzing strategic, operational, financial and information-related risks. This mapping enables Carbone Lorraine to plan ahead for and control its risks more effectively.
The Group can draw on over ten years of best practice in corporate governance, and it endeavors to adhere strictly to the rules concerning transparency, the quality of information and the balancing of decision power. Supporting the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors, Carbone Lorraine has four committees responsible for ensuring good corporate governance, namely the Strategy Committee, the Audit and Accounts Committee, the Appointments Committee and the Remuneration Committee.
This award will encourage Carbone Lorraine to pursue its ongoing efforts to achieve excellence in all the Group's business activities.
