MERSEN ANNOUNCES THE REPLACEMENT OF A MEMBER OF ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

PARIS, MAY 7, 2018 – Mersen (Euronext FR0000039620 – MRN), a global expert in electrical power and advanced materials, has announced the appointment of Magali Joëssel to replace Thierry Sommelet as a permanent representative for Bpifrance Investissement on its Board of Directors. The new appointment will take place with immediate effect.

Thierry Sommelet, who has represented Bpifrance Investissement since October 2013, has chosen to resign from his responsibilities in order to be able to devote his time to other director mandates as part of his functions. The Board of Directors would like to warmly thank Mr. Sommelet for his commitment and contribution to the development of the Group and to welcome Magali Joëssel.

Magali Joëssel began her career with the Inspectorate General of Finance at the French Ministry of Economic and Financial Affairs, before being named General Interest Investment Manager with Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations. She joined Bpifrance when it was created in mid-2013 and currently holds the position of Strategy Manager. Since September 2014, Magali Joëssel has been in charge of the Industrial Project Companies (SPI) fund, which invests in the development of innovative industrial activities and projects. She also represents Bpifrance Investissement on the Board of Directors of Naval Energies and Yposkesi.

Following the new appointment, the proportion of women directors on the Board will increase to 50%.
