Mekonomen's Nomination Committee intends to propose Robert M. Hanser as the new Chairman of the Board in Mekonomen AB at the annual general meeting in 2021. John S. Quinn, current Chairman of the Board, has informed the Nomination Committee that he is declining re-election at the next Annual General Meeting.
Robert M. Hanser, born 1953, is a European board member of LKQ Corporation since 2015. Prior to that, Robert has held several assignments within the German multinational engineering and electronics company Robert Bosch GmbH, including Managing Director of Bosch in the UK, Executive Vice-president of Automotive Original Equipment and President of the Automotive Aftermarket Division.
"The Nomination Committee is very pleased to be able to propose Robert M. Hanser as the new Chairman of the Board in Mekonomen. It is the Nomination Committee's opinion that Robert, with his experience and competence in the industry, is the right person to lead the Board's work in the future", said the nomination committee for Mekonomen AB in a joint statement. The balance of the committee added: "We would also like to thank John S. Quinn for his valuable contributions to Mekonomen's Board over the past four years."
The Nomination Committee's proposal for the full Board will be announced as soon as the committee's work is complete. The Nomination Committee's other proposals will be announced in the notice of the Annual General Meeting 2021, which will be held in Stockholm on May 7, 2021, at 11:00.
The Nomination Committee prior to the 2021 Annual General Meeting consists of John Quinn (Chairman of the Nomination Committee) appointed by LKQ Corporation, Arne Lööw appointed by the Fourth Swedish National Pension Fund "Fjärde AP-fonden", Kristian Åkesson appointed by Didner & Gerge Fonder AB and Caroline Sjösten appointed by Swedbank Robur Fonder AB. Mekonomen board member, Helena Skåntorp, has been co-opted to the Nomination Committee.
