Magnus Johansson steps down as CEO of Mekonomen Group

Magnus Johansson leaves the position as President and CEO of Mekonomen Group, with immediate effect. Pehr Oscarson, Managing Director of MECA Scandinavia, will assume the role as Acting President and CEO until a new CEO is in place.

The search process to find a new President and CEO for Mekonomen Group will be initiated immediately and is led by Kenneth Bengtsson, Chairman of the Board in Mekonomen Group.

"Magnus Johansson has laid the groundwork for several key projects that will be of importance for Mekonomen Group's competitiveness in the coming years. On my own and on behalf of the Board I want to thank Magnus for his work. Given the opportunities and challenges that Mekonomen Group is facing, the Board has decided that the time is right for a new leadership, where a new CEO can operate the next phase of Mekonomen Group's development. The decision is not linked to the result of Mekonomen Group and the Board stands behind the current strategy, says Kenneth Bengtsson, Chairman of Mekonomen Group.

Pehr Oscarson has held management positions in MECA since 2001. Since 2014 he has been Managing Director of MECA Scandinavia and is since 2015 a member of the group management in Mekonomen Group.
