ANNOUNCEMENT
On 26 June 2000, Mr. Wang Guo Duan ("Mr. Wang") resigned as the President of the Company. Pursuant to a resolution passed by the board of directors of the Company (the "Board") on 26 June 2000, Mr. Xu Tie Feng (徐鐵峰) ("Mr. Xu") was appointed as the President of the Company on the same day.
On 26 June 2000, Mr. Wang resigned as the President of the Company. On the same day, Mr. Xu was appointed by the Board as the President of the Company. Mr. Wang will remain as the Chairman of the Company.
Mr. Xu, aged 46, is formerly, the Deputy Director of the Office of Industry Development of the former Shunde Rongqi Municipal Government, the General Manager of the Rongqi Town Economic Development Corporation and the Chairman of Guangdong Kelon (Rongsheng) Group Company Limited. He is an experienced professional manager with substantial experience, in particular, in mergers and acquisitions in The People's Republic of China.
The appointment of Mr. Xu as the President of the Company is in line with the Company's commitment to a two tiers management structure, comprising of a board of directors and a separate and independent management team. The Board is responsible for making strategic decisions and the management team, independent of the Board, is responsible for implementing the relevant strategies decided on by the Board.
