MediClin reports figures for first quarter 2006

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— · Sales increased by 4.9 per cent · Operating result 1.1 million Euro Frankfurt, 12 May 2006 – Group sales increased against previous year’s figure by 4.3 million Euro to the amount of 91.8 million Euro (Q1 2005: 87.5 million Euro). The consolidated operating result was 1.1 milion Euro (Q1 2005: minus 1.1 million Euro). The consolidated result after minorities improved to minus 0.4 million Euro after minus 3.0 million Euro in Q1 2005. Earnings per share amount to minus 0.01 Euro (Q1 2005: minus 0.09 Euro). The cash flow of operating activities were minus 0.3 million Euro (Q1 2005: minus 0.4 million Euro). Investments in the first quarter of 2006 amounted to 4.7 million Euro (Q1 2005: 2.9 million Euro). The share of outpatient care in the Group sales rose 9.5% to above 2.0 million Euro. Increase in sales and result in all three segments Sales increased in all three segments compared to the same quarter in the previous year. In the post-acute segment, the number of nursing days was 1.9% and the number of cases treated 2.0% above the figures for the first quarter of 2005. In the acute segment, the number of cases treated rose 2.9% over the previous year’s level while the number of nursing days decreased by 1.2% due to the shorter duration of stay. The number of nursing day in the nursing care segment rose by 76,7%.
