The sender is solely responsible for the contents of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– MediClin:The Clinics Under Management Agreements Will Become Cooperating Partner ·The aim is close networking of medical services ·MediClin is satisfied with the third quarters development at Euro 2.3 million, the preliminary operating result is clearly positive Frankfurt am Main, 18 November 2003 – MediClin AG, one of the largest clinic operators in Germany, and representatives of the town of Baden-Baden and the Rastatt district have combined under one roof the clinics and nursing facilities that have, up to now, been managed by MediClin within the scope of two management agreements. The newly established Klinikum Mittelbaden eGmbH is now the management company of Stadtklinik Baden-Baden and the Rastatt district clinics and nursing facilities including their respective subsidiary operations. It has been agreed that MediClins successful management to date will be continued in the form of a cooperation agreement. The object of the agreement is to ensure treatment of patients in the region as close to their homes as possible at a high medical level, and to offer a chain of services that optimally supports the treatment process from initial care through to rehabilitation, including care components. Compact04 takes effect Third quarter operating result clearly positive At an expected Euro 93 million, revenues for the third quarter are about Euro 1 million up on the second quarter or Euro 5 million up on the first quarter of the current financial year, respectively. Above-proportionately reduced costs play the most significant role in the improvement of results in the third quarter. The measures of our Compact04 programme which are intended to better adjust the company to market changes, have taken effect for the first time, leading to intensified sales, flexibility and cost management. The operating result has therefore developed very satisfactorily in the third quarter of 2003. At Euro 2.3 million, it is expected to be significantly up on the results of the previous quarters that amounted to minus Euro 3.3 million or minus Euro 4 million, respectively. The interim report for the nine months of the current financial year will be published on 28 November 2003.
