MEDICA SIGNS DEFINITIVE AGREEMENT WITH EVOQUA WATER TECHNOLOGIES TO ACQUIRE ASSETS TO MANUFACTURE BLOOD AND WATER FILTER PRODUCTS
Medolla (MO), 1 March 2023 - Medica S.p.A., an integrated Italian biomedical and MedTech group with a strong international footprint, announces that its subsidiary Medica USA Inc has entered into a definitive agreement with Evoqua Water Technologies (NYSE: AQUA), an industry leader in mission-critical water treatment solutions, to acquire assets to manufacture blood and water filter products. Evoqua will retain distribution rights to the water filter product line, including bioscience product filters and automated endoscope reprocessor (AER) filters.
The transaction is expected to close in the next 30-60 days.
The acquisition of these assets allows Medica to use its strong expertise in hollow fiber filter design and production to increase its portfolio products and continue bringing quality products to US and international markets, in line with the geographic expansion strategy of its business.
Upon closing of the transaction, Evoqua will enter into a supply agreement with Medica for bioscience product filters and automated endoscope reprocessor filters to continue serving its customers. These filters are typically used in pharmaceutical, medical, and industrial applications to maintain a high-quality filtration and disinfection environment.

two extremely dynamic R&D groups (medical equipment, membranes and disposable), the Group competes successfully in several markets, namely:
