Annual General Meeting Chairman's Statement 7th June 2017
At the AGM, Jeremy Sinclair, Chairman of M&C Saatchi PLC, will make the following statement:
"2017 has started well and trading is in line with expectations.
"Following our well-rehearsed slogan of New Business and New Businesses, here is the 2017 story so far:
• We have expanded our successful brand identity unit, RE from Sydney to London.
• We are taking our research agency, the Source, on its first expansion from London, to Melbourne.
• We have spread Sports and Entertainment's wings to cover LA.
• We are also taking our strategic consultancy Clear to LA, as well as opening in Berlin.
• We are looking at expanding the advertising network to Mexico City.
"In terms of New Business, group companies have made a good start:
• The LA office won Pacific Life, the American mutual insurance company.
• Our French colleagues won Haribo Candy.
• SS+K NY, in whom we have increased our stake from 51% to 67%, have won some Samsung and Airbnb.
• In the UK, the Agency started the year well winning Dreams, the retailer and Visit Britain a British Tourism campaign designed to persuade you to holiday here.
• Still in the UK, LIDA won The Body Shop.
• And M&C Saatchi PR won Virgin.
"All of this gives the Board confidence of another successful year for the company."
