Working experience and occupation	Dato' Syed Yasir Arafat bin Syed Abd Kadir brings over 30 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, and corporate finance across Malaysia and Southeast Asia. He spent 15 years at Ekuiti Nasional Berhad (Ekuinas), a government-sponsored private equity firm, including 9 years as its former Chief Executive Officer. As part of the firm's founding senior management team, he led the firm's investment strategy, portfolio value creation initiatives, and overall strategic direction. Prior to Ekuinas, he spent 9 years with the ING Group, where he served as Country Manager for ING Wholesale Banking in Malaysia, overseeing deal origination, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and offshore banking activities. During his time with ING Barings Corporate Advisory, he executed M&A and corporate finance mandates across Malaysia and Southeast Asia. Earlier in his career, he held roles at United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Berhad, Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Berhad, Commerce International Merchant Bankers Berhad, and Aseambankers Malaysia Berhad. He currently serves as Senior Adviser to Creador, focusing on identifying and facilitating proprietary investment opportunities in Malaysia, with thematic coverage across Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals, Advanced Manufacturing, and B2B Services. Dato' Syed Yasir Arafat has extensive board-level experience across industries such as Oil & Gas, Maritime & Logistics, Education, Retail, and Technology.
