MELTON-COPPER PROJECT AIRBORNE EM SURVEY COMPLETED

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • 307 line kilometres of EM and magnetic data acquired over Champion and Melton Central

  • Processed and reviewed data and resultant drill targets due early February 2015

Airborne EM Survey

Marmota Energy Limited (ASX:MEU) is pleased to advise that the helicopter Time Domain Electromagnetic (TDEM) survey undertaken by the South Australian company, Geosolutions Pty Ltd, over part of the Melton copper project on SA’s Yorke Peninsula was completed on Wednesday 21 January 2015. As announced in the ASX Release dated 13 January 2015, the survey specifically targeted the Champion prospect and Melton Central target areas on EL4648 (100% Marmota) and EL 5209 (75% Marmota, 25% Monax Mining Limited (ASX: MOX)) respectively.

The survey was flown by a Eurocopter Squirrel BA helicopter and used the RepTEM system[1] . Lines were acquired on 100 metre line spacing with some lines tied to the Moonta GeoTEM BHP 1998 survey (see ASX Release dated 13 January 2015). A total of 307 line kilometres of EM and magnetic data were acquired. A depiction of those lines is in Figure 2 below.

1 REPTEM T ime D omain E lectro M agnetic (TDEM) system measures the electrical conductivity of the ground below the sensor. The system induces a current into the ground and measures the electromagnetic response over time. As well as being used for finding and mapping conductive mineral deposits, the system is also designed to measure early time TDEM responses to enable accurate geological mapping.

The data acquired will now be processed and then reviewed by Marmota’s independent geophysicist to assist Marmota in determining drilling targets. The results of this work should be available early in February 2015.
