ISSUE OF SUPER & SHORT-TERM COMMERCIAL PAPER

China United Network Communications Corporation Limited (“CUCL”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Unicom (Hong Kong) Limited (the “Company”), has completed the issue of the second tranche of super & short-term commercial paper for the year 2012 of an amount of RMB15 billion.

Reference is made to the announcement made by the Company on 24 August 2012.

The Company announces that CUCL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, completed the issue of the second tranche of super & short-term commercial paper for the year 2012 of an amount of RMB15 billion on 28 August 2012, with a maturity period of 60 days and at an interest rate of 3.70% per annum. Interests will accrue from 28 August 2012.
