Manz AG confirms dynamic growth with new major orders in the Electronics business segment

New and follow-up orders totaling more than 20 million euros in the Electronics segment acquired

Automation trend in China continues – large Chinese group becomes a new Manz customer

Development of a new industry through successful technology transfer – New customer to rely on Manz for the assembly of electronic control units

New generation of laser equipment replaces current technology at long-standing large customer

Reutlingen, February 17, 2016 – Manz AG, a multinational high-tech equipment manufacturer with an extensive technology portfolio covering the three strategic business segments of “Electronics”, “Solar” and “Energy Storage”, has acquired several large and strategically important orders in the Electronics segment, following several new and follow-up orders in the Energy Storage segment last week. These new and follow-up orders comprise machines for assembly automation and laser process equipment with a total volume of more than 20 million euros. The orders will impact revenues and earnings during the first six months of 2016.

Manz AG identified the increasing trend towards automation in the production processes of Asian countries, particularly China, at a very early stage, and used its decades-long technological expertise to position itself in the robotics, automation, image processing and control technology segments of the market. Following the company’s successful acquisition of several large orders in this segment last year, it has now obtained a large Chinese group in the Consumer Electronics industry as a new customer. Dieter Manz, CEO and founder of Manz AG, commented, “this order from our new Chinese customer regarding machines for the automated assembly of equipment in the Consumer Electronics segment is of considerable strategic importance. Until now, mainly Western corporations were driving the trend towards automation in Chinese production. In view of increasing wage costs and demands for consistent product quality, more and more Chinese corporations are also joining this trend. This will provide additional impulse to the market, which creates considerable potential for our company.” With its locations in Taiwan and China, Manz AG offers German engineering at locally competitive prices. And with its modular and fully automated assembly systems, the high-tech equipment manufacturer is ideally positioned to offer tailored solutions for the needs of the Consumer Electronics industry.

In addition, Manz AG was also able to impress another new multinational customer with its expertise from the successful technology transfer and further development of the technology platform for assembly automation that is already established in the Consumer Electronics industry. The orders obtained by the company in this context comprise machines for the automated assembly of electronic control units. Dieter Manz: “Diversification forms an integral part of our intensively pursued strategy. I am pleased that we have once again demonstrated our innovation power and flexibility with the addition of new customers to our business segment.”

Manz once again proved its innovation power for a long-standing large customer from the Consumer Electronics industry. As a result, the company received a large order for machines with innovative laser process technology for the production of Smartphone and tablet computer components. The new technology significantly improves the quality of the manufactured parts with more rapid throughput in the production process. Dieter Manz commented, “as a development partner, we can do our part in continuously enhancing the end products of our customers with the use of innovative production processes. And as a high-tech equipment manufacturer, that is the best confirmation of our abilities.”
