About the report

2020 is an eventful year that goes down in the history of China. It also marks a key chapter on China’s great achievements in the world history. China has overcome the COVID-19, and achieved a full victory in the fight against poverty alleviation. China bears witness to a well-off society in an allround way, and successfully concludes the“13th Five-Year”plan. The“14th Five-Year”plan kicks off as scheduled.

To Mango Excellent Media Co., Ltd., a company in Malanshan, the time has come to build a mainstream new media group. The Company has been redefined. The 2020 CSR Report of Mango Excellent Media Co., Ltd. is based on the principles of objectivity, standardization, transparency and comprehensiveness. It details how the Company fulfills its social responsibilities in party building, mainstream publicity, shareholder and creditor rights and interests, and employee rights, environmental protection and sustainable development, public relations and social welfare in 2020.

2020 is an extraordinary year. The great changes, unseen in a century, have occurred and the world order have been shaped amidst chaos and clamor. The world is standing at the crossroads of major crisis, divisions, and adjustment. To fulfill the mission of mainstream publicity, Mango Excellent Media has actively played the role as a Party media and a state-owned enterprise. The Company promptly responds to the call of the Party Central Committee to accelerate the development of in-depth media convergence and build an all-media communication ecosystem. It works hard to generate more mainstream voices and positive energy through high-quality films and TV shows. To build a mainstream new media group, we are not satisfied with fantasies and vanity. Instead, we are making every effort to explore a unique “Mango” mode of media convergence.

To answer the call for the great revival of the Chinese nation and hit “the Two Centennial Goals”, Mango Excellent Media deems it as a mission to follow the orders of the Party and pledge absolute loyalty to the Party. During his inspection in Malanshan, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized that “We must attach great importance to the development of cultural industries and insist on the priority of social benefits. We should firmly grasp major political principles, uphold integrity and innovation, and strive to achieve the unity of social and economic benefits so as to ensure the sustainability and healthy growth of the cultural industry.” We’ve followed closely the instructions of the General Secretary. In 2020, every employee of Mango Excellent Media got actively involved in strengthening and growing the mainstream media, who aligned the strategies and decision-making of media convergence with the current situation, trend and major events of the Party Central Committee. We responded promptly during the epidemic and was the only audiovisual media in the China’s online audiovisual industry that provided free video resources to the society on various terminals. We’ve launched an array of highquality video content throughout the year, which truly make Mango a messenger of mainstream values, a leader in youth culture and a builder of national spirit.

It is a responsibility to build the high-threshold long-term video platform.

The media industry has undergone radical changes and innovations in the past 10 years, which were rarely seen in several decades. In spite of changes in channels and fragmented and diversified scenarios, long videos will remain as a rigid demand and the mainstream of the video industry as long as family culture remains intact and aesthetics do not undergo radical changes. The long video platform is the main front of publicity for the Party, which plays a key role in mainstream publicity. COVID-19 has changed lives and markets. When new changes are taking place in the market and new opportunities are the horizon, we choose to embrace these changes and update our product lineup. We've accelerated the in-depth convergence of the dual platforms of Mango TV and Hunan TV. By establishing a competitive incentive mechanism,

we’ve built a content production team capable of close collaboration and enjoying full liberty of creation. Meanwhile, we’ve launched an emerging business mode “Xiaomang E-commerce Platform” featuring “video + content + e-commerce”. I prefer the motto “Innovation or die”. To build a high-threshold long video platform, we must inherit the spirit of innovation and use it as guidance for everything we do.

To help win the fight against poverty, we've created a public welfare agricultural platform “Mango Poverty Alleviation Cloud Supermarket” to achie ve targeted poverty alleviation through media convergence. In 2020, Mango TV ranked among the top 20 Internet companies in China for two consecutive years, and became the first Internet company in the province to win the “Hunan Governor Quality Award”, the highest quality honor in Hunan.

All efforts serve one goal. Under the guidance of Xi Jinping’s thoughts on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, Mango Excellent Media will integrate operation management, innovation and social responsibilities. It will embrace challenges, explore innovation, work effectively as a mainstream media and contribute more cultural products.

Mango Excellent Media will continue to forge ahead and make waves.

The central government required in the“14th Five-Year Plan”proposal that“to build a successful cultural industry and to enhance China’s cultural soft power”, it is necessary to“persist in putting social benefits as a priority and unifying social and economic benefits”and“increase the supply of high-quality cultural products. The Party Committee of Mango Excellent Media steadfastly held the main line of studying and implementing the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and undertook the responsibility of remaining true to our original aspiration and keeping our mission firmly in mind. In 2020, the Party Committee of the Company organized the Party Committee's central group to study every month, so as to deeply understand the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the CPC, Volume 3 of“Xi Jinping: The Governance of China”and General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech during his visit to Hunan Province, and learn loyalty, faith, responsibility and competence. Happy Sunshine (Mango TV) extended ideological and political education to cover the overall situation of the party media, and provided normalized orientation and political awareness education to all front-line production teams and even content production staff on external sets.
