NEXTCHEM SI AGGIUDICA DA NEWCLEO UN CONTRATTO DI SERVIZI DI INGEGNERIA DEL VALORE DI EUR 70 MILIONI, E LANCIA NEXT-N, DEDICATA ALLA CREAZIONE DI NUOVA PROPRIETÀ INTELLETTUALE PER LA CONVENTIONAL ISLAND E ALLA FORNITURA DI SERVIZI

TECNICI ALTAMENTE QUALIFICATI PER L'INDUSTRIA DELL'ENERGIA NUCLEARE E LA E-FACTORY PER SERVIRE I DATA CENTER E LA CHIMICA A BASSO IMPATTO CARBONICO

• Con questo primo contratto NEXT-N lavorerà con newcleo per realizzare il basic design della conventional island e del balance of plant di un impianto nucleare di nuova generazione basato sul reattore modulare avanzato (AMR) da 200 MWe di newcleo
• NEXT-N lavorerà anche con altri fornitori di tecnologia nucleare per sviluppare conventional island e balance of plant, facendo leva sulle capacità di ingegneria ed esecuzione e l'expertise tecnologica del Gruppo MAIRE

Milano, 23 ottobre 2025 – MAIRE (MAIRE.MI) annuncia il lancio di NEXT-N¹ , dedicata alla creazione di nuova proprietà intellettuale per la conventional island e alla fornitura di servizi tecnici altamente qualificati nel campo degli impianti nucleari di nuova generazione. In particolare, NEXT-N si è aggiudicata da newcleo SA (newcleo) un contratto di servizi di ingegneria per un valore di 70 milioni di euro per sviluppare il basic design della conventional island e del balance of plant di un impianto nucleare "First of A Kind" basato sul reattore modulare avanzato (AMR) da 200 MW di newcleo. La decisione finale di investimento per questo primo impianto di nuova generazione, secondo il piano di newcleo, è attesa intorno al 2029.

NEXT-N, che lavorerà sia con newcleo che con altri provider di tecnologia nucleare, si avvarrà anche della business unit Integrated E&C Solution del Gruppo MAIRE per la realizzazione dei progetti, incluse le competenze di TECNIMONT e il suo approccio modulare avanzato, volto ad ottimizzare le metodologie di pianificazione e costruzione nonché a ridurre tempi e costi.

NEXT-N faciliterà e accelererà lo sviluppo e la commercializzazione del "LFR-AS-200" di newcleo,e anche di altre tecnologie. In particolare, nell'ambito del modello di e-Factory for chemistry, sono stati sviluppati studi di dettaglio sull'integrazione della tecnologia SMR (Small Modular Reactor) con quelle di idrogeno e ammoniaca, per fare leva su una fonte di energia sicura, affidabile e competitiva per la produzione di prodotti chimici a zero emissioni di carbonio.

Inoltre, a seguito dell'autorizzazione ricevuta dalle autorità competenti, gi accordi annunciati a giugno sono stati finalizzati. Il completamento delle ulteriori attività societarie necessarie per il trasferimento reciproco delle partecipazioni di minoranza in NEXT-N (40% newcleo) e newcleo (fino al 5% NEXTCHEM) avverrà, come già comunicato, entro la fine del 2025.

Milan, 23 October 2025 – MAIRE (MAIRE.MI) announces the launch of NEXT-N1 , dedicated to creating new IP for the conventional island and providing highly qualified technical services in the field of new-generation nuclear power plants. In particular, NEXT-N has been awarded by newcleo SA (newcleo) an Engineering Services contract for a total value of EUR 70 million to develop the basic design of the conventional island and balance of plant of a First of a Kind nuclear power plant based on newcleo's 200 MW advanced modular reactor (AMR). The Final Investment Decision for this first new generation power plant, according to newcleo's plan, is expected around 2029.

NEXT-N, which will work with newcleo as well as with other nuclear technology providers, will also benefit from MAIRE Group's Integrated E&C Solution business unit, including TECNIMONT's capabilities for the delivery of projects, thanks to its state-of-the-art modularization approach to optimize construction and planning methodologies reducing time and costs.

NEXT-N will facilitate and accelerate the development and commercialization of the "LFR-AS-200" by newcleo, as well as other technologies. In particular, within the framework of the E-factory for chemistry model, detailed studies on the integration of the small modular reactor with hydrogen and ammonia technologies have been developed, to leverage a safe, reliable and competitive energy supply for the production of carbon neutral chemicals.

Moreover, following the approval of the competent authorities, the finalization of the agreements announced in June has been reached. The completion of the additional corporate activities required for the mutual transfer of minority shareholdings in NEXT-N (40% newcleo) and newcleo (up to 5% NEXTCHEM) will take place, as previously communicated, by the end of 2025.
