MAIRE TECNIMONT SI AGGIUDICA UN CONTRATTO EPC DI CIRCA €250 MN DA COVESTRO PER UN NUOVO IMPIANTO DI ANILINA IN BELGIO

Milano, 13 gennaio 2022 – Maire Tecnimont S.p.A. annuncia che la propria controllata Tecnimont S.p.A. si è aggiudicata un contratto di Engineering, Procurement e Contruction (EPC) da Covestro per un nuovo impianto di anilina ad Anversa, in Belgio.

Covestro è tra le maggiori società a livello internazionale per la produzione di polimeri ad alte prestazioni e per lo sviluppo di soluzioni innovative e sostenibili per molte applicazioni di uso quotidiano.

Il progetto è destinato ad aumentare la capacità di produzione di anilina presso l'impianto di Covestro ad Anversa. Il progetto comprende tutti i prerequisiti necessari per la realizzazione dei prodotti finali, incluse le materie prime, le infrastrutture e la logistica di prodotto.

Il valore del contratto su base lump sum è di circa €250 milioni. La mechanical completion è prevista entro il 2024. Il nuovo impianto si baserà su tecnologie all'avanguardia al fine di garantire i più alti standard in termini di sicurezza ed efficienza energetica.

L'impianto di Anversa, è l'hub europeo di Covestro per la produzione di anilina, e beneficia dell'eccellente infrastruttura e logistica con accesso diretto alle materie prime. L'anilina è un'importante materia di partenza per molti prodotti chimici incluso il difenil diisocianato di metilene utilizzato sia come termoisolante degli edifici che come isolante per la refrigerazione, oltre a vari altri usi.

MAIRE TECNIMONT AWARDED APPROX. €250 MN EPC CONTRACT BY COVESTRO FOR A NEW ANILINE PLANT IN BELGIUM

Milan, 13 January 2022– Maire Tecnimont S.p.A. announces that its subsidiary Tecnimont S.p.A. has been awarded an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract by Covestro for a new aniline plant in Antwerp, Belgium.

Covestro is one of the world's leading polymer companies, focusing on the manufacturing of high-tech polymer materials and the development of innovative, sustainable solutions for products used in many areas of daily life.

The project will realize a substantial additional aniline production capacity to the existing Covestro site in Antwerp. The project comprises all the necessary prerequisites to produce the final products, including raw materials, infrastructure, and product logistics.

The contract will be executed on a lump sum basis and has a value of approximately €250 million. The project's mechanical completion is expected by 2024. The new unit will be based on state-of-the-art technologies aimed at ensuring the highest standards in terms of process safety and energy efficiency.

The Antwerp site is Covestro's European hub for aniline, and benefits from attractive infrastructure and logistics with direct access to the necessary raw materials. Aniline is an important starting material for numerous chemical products including methylene diphenyl diisocyanate, which is used to produce rigid foam for thermal insulation in buildings and in the refrigeration chain, among other uses.
