Magellan Financial Group Limited (ASX: MFG) – Trading Halt

Description

The securities of Magellan Financial Group Limited (‘MFG’) will be placed in trading halt at the request of MFG, pending it releasing an announcement. Unless ASX decides otherwise, the securities will remain in trading halt until the earlier of the commencement of normal trading on Thursday, 15 August 2019 or when the announcement is released to the market.

Magellan Financial Group request for trading halt under Listing Rule 17.1

Under Listing Rule 17.1, Magellan Financial Group Ltd (ABN 59 108 437 592) (ASX: MFG) requests a trading halt in MFG securities.

The trading halt is being requested:

• as MFG expects to make an announcement to the ASX in connection with a capital raising comprising an institutional placement (" Placement "); and

• because it is necessary to prevent a disorderly market occurring in MFG securities while the Placement is being conducted.

MFG requests an immediate trading halt until the earlier of:

• the commencement of trading on Wednesday, 14 August 2019; or

• the making of an announcement to the market regarding the completion of the Placement.

MFG is not aware of any reason why the trading halt should not be granted or of any other information necessary to inform the market about the trading halt.
