Agbaja Iron Ore Project
Exploration Activities
-
Granted licence area on the Agbaja Plateau, Nigeria - West Africa
-
Strong aeromagnetic survey
-
Ore body appears to extend over the whole plateau
-
Ease of access
-
Low population density / non-transient
-
Open grassland with scattered forest cover
-
Prospective iron ore leases: 1-2 billion tonne exploration target size*, initially targeting 500Mt from 10% of the lease area.
-
Targeting maiden JORC resource in Q3 CY2012
-
Regional exploration programs to identify new iron ore targets / complete preliminary assessment of the oolitic mineralisation
-
Good correlation with other oolitic iron ore projects located in China, Kazakhstan and Australia
-
The potential quantity and grade is conceptual in nature at this stage as there has been insufficient exploration to define a Mineral Resource under the JORC code. Further, it is uncertain if future exploration will result in the determination of a Mineral Resource.
www.energio.net.au | ASX: EIO
==> picture [178 x 64] intentionally omitted <==
Current Exploration Program
-
Current program fully funded
-
Initial target area ~14km[2]
-
760 holes for 20,000m; 550 holes completed
-
Program to be completed July 2012 (subject to favourable weather conditions)
-
Results encouraging – suggest homogeneous iron mineralisation: Approximately 5-10m overburden overlying ~20-30m iron bearing sandstone material
-
Initial analysis results confirm higher than expected Fe ranging to 55%+ (P 0.7-1%+, Al O 2 3 9-12%, SiO2 4-9%, LOI 10-12%)
-
Diamond hole program completed
-
Step out RC drill to commence in Q3, 2012 (~60 holes)
