Macmahon confirms contract award for Pacific Highway project

Macmahon Holdings Ltd (ASX:MAH) confirms that a joint venture between Macmahon and Thiess has been awarded a contract by the NSW Government to deliver the Pacific Highway upgrade between Frederickton and Eungai.

The $458 million (Macmahon share 40%) project will commence immediately and is expected to be completed in 2016. The contract award follows the announcement of preferred contractor status on November 23, 2012.

It is expected Macmahon’s share of the project will transfer to Leighton Holdings Limited upon completion of the sale of its Construction projects, in line with the Memorandum of Understanding announced on December 12, 2012.
