M3 Mining Limited (ASX: M3M) ( M3 Mining or the Company ) is pleased to have appointed experienced oil and gas executive, Stuart Brown, to assist the Company in securing an onshore energy asset in North Africa.
M3 Mining, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, M3 Energy Pty Ltd, is actively pursuing an advanced energy project. As previously announced, the Company is regularly engaging with relevant in-country stakeholders to secure the asset and is in discussions to identify potential strategic funding partners.[1]
Mr Brown has four decades of oil and gas industry experience, working across multiple geographies in exploration and producing operations. He has held a number of senior roles at Woodside Energy including five years as Vice President of Strategic Planning. During his time at Shell, he was a Regional Business Advisor, providing oversight of Shell’s producing assets in Syria and its exploration and production operations in Kazakhstan. Most recently he has consulted to the oil and gas industry, governments, and capital markets firms.
In a Senior Advisor capacity, Mr Brown will bring strategic and technical expertise to M3 Mining to help the Company secure the energy asset.

Stuart Brown Biography
Stuart is a petroleum geologist and oil & gas industry expert with over 40 years’ technical, executive and Board level experience including international oil and gas companies, Shell and Woodside Petroleum.
Stuart’s international career covers exploration, development and production operations in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, FSU, Latin America and Australasia.
From 2007 to 2012 Stuart held the position of Vice President Strategic Planning at Woodside responsible for the management of Woodside’s corporate strategic planning process and investment reviews. Prior to 2007 Stuart was responsible for Woodside’s International Business Development, acquiring a global portfolio of assets. At Shell International Exploration & Production, Stuart’s last role was Regional Business Advisor, providing oversight of Shell’s producing assets in Syria and its exploration and production operations in Kazakhstan. He has also held technical and senior management positions at Shell in the UK, Africa, the Middle East and Australia. Notable projects include the discovery and development of over 2 billion barrels of oil in the Euphrates Graben of Syria with production of over 300,000 bopd, Shell’s representative in the North Caspian project leading to the giant Kashagan discovery and the acquisition of multiple concession agreements in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Since 2012, Stuart has provided independent technical and strategic consultancy services to the oil and gas industry, governments, investment banks, equity analysts and hedge funds. Nonexecutive experience has included directorships with four ASX-listed companies and consulting engagements with over 10 listed companies.
Stuart has a First-Class Honours Degree in Petroleum Geology from Sydney University, Sydney Australia.
