On March 5, 2012, CenturyLink, Inc. issued a press release announcing that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Embarq Corporation, has commenced a debt tender offer to purchase two series of its outstanding debt securities for an aggregate purchase price of up to $1.25 billion, along with a concurrent public offering of senior debt securities of CenturyLink, Inc.
