LOTUS BAKERIES: INTERMEDIATE STATEMENT

During the first four months of the second semester the consolidated sales of Lotus Bakeries grew well. Lotus Bakeries expects profitability ratios for 2013 as a whole to be in line with those of 2012.

The investments at Koninklijke Peijnenburg in the Netherlands, started in 2012, are now successfully completed. At Geldrop a completely new production infrastructure has been installed, and at Sintjohannesga capacity has been expanded. At the same time the gingerbread production processes have been optimised at both plants. The total investment amounted to € 18 million. This project was completed on schedule and within budget.

Half-way through the year, the Lotus Dinosaurus biscuits were introduced. Meanwhile, a strong distribution structure for Lotus Dinosaurus products has been set up in both the Belgian and French markets. Consumer confidence in Lotus Dinosaurus is confirmed by the good rotation of the product.
