SABINE SAGAERT PROPOSED AS NEW INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR OF LOTUS BAKERIES NV

Today's edition of the newspaper De Standaard reports that Sabine Chalmers is to be proposed for appointment as a director of Lotus Bakeries NV. This report is incorrect and has never been checked with Lotus Bakeries.

As proposal will be made to the Ordinary General Meeting of 13 May 2011 to appoint Ms Sabine Sagaert to the Board of Lotus Bakeries NV, in the capacity of an independent director.

Sabine Sagaert has a degree in Commercial Engineering from the KUL, a Master's in Economic Legislation (UCL) and an MBA (KUL). She has spent most of her business career at AB InBev, most recently as Business Unit President Belux, and is currently CEO Dental Division at Arseus.

By proposing Ms Sagaert, Lotus Bakeries is opting to increase the female presence in its Board of Directors. She will join Dominique Leroy to give two women directors in the Lotus Bakeries Board.
