ASX ANNOUNCEMENT
LITHIUM AUSTRALIA ADVISES FIRST LITHIUM HYDROXIDE PRODUCTION
Global lithium developer, Lithium Australia NL (ASX: LIT or Company) advises that it has produced its first lithium hydroxide on 9 December 2015. Lithium hydroxide is a value added lithium chemical, used for the production of lithium batteries.
The hydroxide product results from the conversion of carbonate and in present markets commands a premium of around 25%. The upgrade of product is a significant value-add process.
As advised previously, this is the first step in Lithium Australia’s investigation into a range of value added lithium chemicals targeted for the lithium battery industry.
