ABN : 29 126 129 413 PRINCIPAL AND REGISTERED OFFICE Cobre Montana NL Suite 3 23 Belgravia Street Belmont WA 6104
REGISTERED OFFICE Diamond drilling by Cobre Montana NL (‘Cobre') of the Mantos Grandes Cobre Montana NL copper/gold project in Chile is scheduled to commence on 15 January 2014. Suite 3 23 Belgravia Street Drill plan Belmont WA 6104 The programme’s primary aim is to test mineralisation adjacent to the historic underground production areas at the Mantos Grandes mine (including Mantos POSTAL ADDRESS PO Box 588 Chicos) and the La Demonia mine. Drilling coverage is also planned for Belmont WA 6984 Agua del Minero, a very prospective mineralised area adjacent to La Demonia. The programme will be flexible, with amendments made subject to W www.cobremontana.com.au the success of individual holes as they are drilled. E [email protected] Drill targets Proximal to the Mantos Grandes mine workings, the planned drilling will P +61 8 6145 0288 target mineralisation within the skarns, down dip of the existing workings and F +61 8 9475 0847 close to the fault that is thought to be the feeder of the mineralisation in the skarns. ASX CODE Similarly, La Demonia, a north-west trending fault thought to be the primary CXB feeder structure, will be targeted, as will the adjacent skarn (manto) style mineralisation.

Drill sections The planned locations of drill holes and interpreted target sections are shown in the attached presentation. Geological notes
Mineralisation within the sedimentary sequence occurs as layers (strata-bound BOARD OF DIRECTORS bodies), which are locally referred to as manto(s). In the case of the Mantos Eduardo Valenzuela Grandes project – which translates as 'large layered deposit’ – the (Non-Executive Chairman) mineralisation occurs in altered limestone and altered marble. Mineralisation Adrian Griffin of this genesis is referred to as skarn(s). (Managing Director) Bryan Dixon (Non-Executive Director)
1
With skarn mineralisation, a host rock, generally limestone, is altered and replaced by late-stage fluids that emanate from intrusive igneous rocks with a high and valuable metal content. The valuable metals, which in this case include copper, gold and silver, are expelled from the intrusion in aqueous fluids as the intrusive body cools and solidifies. Intrusions of this type, including the gigantic copper porphyries, are common in Chile due to the tectonic history of the continental margin along the South American coast.
The repetitive expulsion of metal-bearing fluids into adjacent limestone, which absorbs the dissolved metals, creates an environment conducive to progressive metal accumulations, which form comparatively high-grade deposits. Such fluids tend not to migrate far into the limestone; thus, the location of feeder structures is important to the formation of the mineralised zones.
