About Midwinter
Midwinter is focused on advancing the Northern Lights Iron Ore Project in the Republic of South Africa. Magnetite targets are contained within 3000km[2] of granted Prospecting Rights and applications over a 270km trend which is interpreted to contain over 600km strike of banded iron formation, the host to the magnetite mineralization.
Woolwich is the largest continuous magnetic anomaly within the area flown with high resolution aeromagnetic in 2010. Woolwich is approximately 15km long and has been extensively modelled by Fugro, world leading geophysical consultants. The Fugro models suggest multiple magnetic bodies over a width of about 800m have generated the core of the Woolwich anomaly. This core is the focus of the January drilling campaign.
Previously Midwinter exploration, focused on stratigraphic extensions of the Woolwich anomaly, has produced assays from drilling and surface samples from 23% to 41% Fe. Mineralization is coarsegrained and amenable to low cost concentration processes. The mineralization exhibits very low impurity levels and is capable of producing very high quality concentrates.
