LIONTRUST ASSET MANAGEMENT PLC

Notification of Transactions of Directors/Persons Discharging Managerial Responsibility and Connected Persons

The Trustee of the Liontrust Asset Management Employee Trust ("EBT") has notified the Company that it:

1.    transferred a total of 8,325 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") on 13 March 2013 to an employee following the exercise of options under the Liontrust Option Plan;  and

2.    bought in the market a total of 8,325 Ordinary Shares on 13 March 2013 at a price of 173.5p per Ordinary Share.

Following these transactions, the EBT holds a total of 3,727,335 Ordinary Shares representing 9.3 per cent. of the Company's voting share capital. The following directors have an interest as potential beneficiaries of the EBT: Vinay Abrol, Adrian Collins and John Ions.

The EBT is a trust, which purchases or subscribes for Ordinary Shares, so as to allow the Trustee to satisfy the exercise of options granted under the Liontrust Enterprise Management Incentive Scheme, Liontrust Option Plan, Liontrust Incentive Plan and Liontrust Senior Incentive Plan, and incentive capital interests granted under the Liontrust Members Incentive Scheme.
