The existing leadership team and Mr. Quinger have together created a highly innovative company in the field of electric mobility and electric energy storage systems and their testing. The considerable knowledge and expertise gained from the company’s successful implementation of numerous battery innovations, development and marketing of its own battery management system, and establishment and continued operation of an extremely successful battery test service provider are the foundation for LION’s development of its revolutionary LIGHT Battery.
The company’s near-term strategy is to develop the LIGHT Battery into a series product, to diversify the existing battery management system into a variety of e-mobility product lines and to expand its activities in the battery testing area.
Thanks to long-standing close partnerships, LION E-Mobility AG can draw on broad expertise from various industrial sectors. In this early prototype phase, the LIGHT Battery is supported by a broad range of international companies, including Analog Devices, 3M, Henkel AG, Kostal Kontakt Systeme and Amada Miyachi Europe. With local experts Roding Automobile and MEKU, partners from manufacturing, lightweight construction, and sports car design were consulted.
Managing the ongoing cooperation with strategic partners to ensure a successful market introduction and rapid market penetration will require an internationally experienced management team.
Mr. Roland Bopp, former Chairman, President & CEO of Deutsche Telekom Inc. New York, formerly responsible for the Mannesmann Group North America, will join the management of the company. His extensive global business experience, his international network of potential customers and in particular his cooperation with industrial partners will contribute to the successful rollout of the newly developed LIGHT Battery. Mr. Bopp commented: “I am very much looking forward to the challenge and the cooperation with the very experienced LION Smart Team, as I estimate the opportunities in the product and licensing business to be very strong in terms of sales.” The management team will be supplemented soon by a very experienced CFO.
