LIFE: Presentation at MARSS 2024

LIFE: Presentation at MARSS 2024

Lifecare's Dr. Preeti Sharma is invited as a speaker to present a paper at

International Conference on Manipulation, Automation and Robotics at Small

Scales (MARSS 2024) in Delft, Netherlands.

The paper "Towards Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) automation" is accepted

by the MARSS 2024 Organization Committee and assigned for an oral presentation

at the conference in July.

MARSS is a non-profit conference run by the microrobotic community and

technically supported by IEEE-RAS and IEEE-NTC. MARSS2024 will be held

in-person on July 1st -5th, 2024, in Delft, Netherlands. The conference is the

flagship forum to discuss cross-disciplinary activities on manipulation,

automation, measurement, and characterization at micro/nano scales, and all

kinds of small-scale robots (nm -- cm) and their applications.

Dr. Preeti Sharma and her co-authors and colleagues in Lifecare, Christoph

Füger, Rustam Gilyazev, Boris Stamm and Prof. Andreas Pfützner have present

the paper about an automated process for precision placement of nanosensors

with real-time quality control.

More recently, SEM combined with a gas injection system has been utilized by

Lifecare for deposition of nanosensors for pressure measurement (Nanogranular

Tunnel- ing Resistors, NTRs). Handling a scanning electron microscope for the

deposition of the NTRs is laborious and time-consuming, especially when it

comes to large-scale production.

Lifecare use a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) with customized software to

produce the Sencell - Lifecare's unique sensor for Continuous Glucose

Monitoring applying osmotic pressure as the sensing principle. Sophisticated

3D-printing processes carried out in a SEM enables Lifecare to obtain the

precision necessary to apply pressure sensing elements of a size as small as

40 nanometers (one nanometer corresponding to a millionth of a millimeter).

- Lifecare innovates within nanotechnology, which is a very advanced field.

Our employees are passionate about providing patients with diabetes with

better solutions for monitoring glucose with our Sencell sensor. It is great

to see that our employees' work is appreciated through the invitation to this

important conference, says CEO Joacim Holter at Lifecare.

About us

Lifecare AS is a clinical stage medical sensor company developing technology

for sensing and monitoring of various body analytes. Lifecare's main focus is

to bring the next generation of Continuous Glucose Monitoring ("CGM") systems

to market. Lifecare enables osmotic pressure as sensing principle, combined

with the ability to manipulate Nano-granular Tunnelling Resistive sensors

("NTR") on the sensor body for read-out of pressure variations. Lifecare's

sensor technology is referred to as "Sencell" and is suitable for identifying

and monitoring the occurrence of a wide range of analytes and molecules in the

human body and in pets.
