MICHELANGELO SECURITY DOME: PRIMO IMPORTANTE RISULTATO CON TEST DI DIFESA AEREA IN ITALIA

Roma, 9 dicembre 2025 - A meno di dieci giorni dal lancio del suo sistema avanzato di difesa integrata Michelangelo Security Dome, Leonardo conferma sul campo l'eccellenza tecnologica nell'ambito della Sensoristica Radar per la Difesa Aerea e Missilistica, uno dei pillar del Dome Italiano.

In data 3 dicembre 2025 è stato completato il primo lancio di qualifica del sistema missilistico SAMP/T NG italiano dotato del Sensore Radar di ultimissima generazione Leonardo KRONOS Grand Mobile High Power. Tale Sensore Radar, basato su architettura AESA multifunzionale a scansione elettronica e dotato delle più avanzate tecnologie richieste da tale capacità, ha confermato le sue eccellenti performance tracciando il target e guidando il missile all'intercetto ad una distanza mai registrata prima con il sistema Eurosam SAMP/T nel corso di attività dimostrative in ambito terrestre.

Questa performance conferma il KRONOS Grand Mobile High Power di Leonardo come Sensore Radar best-in-class in Europa per i sistemi di difesa aerea e missilistica.

Questo risultato, in aggiunta ai precedenti ottenuti nell'ambito delle esercitazioni di Difesa Aerea e Missilistica Integrata internazionali (Formidable Shield e Pacific Dragon) e di sperimentazioni su sistemi SAM (superficie-aria) terrestri, costituisce ulteriore conferma della solidità del percorso intrapreso da Leonardo per la realizzazione del Michelangelo Security Dome Italiano, candidato attraverso la sua architettura dinamica ed aperta a guidare l'integrazione di un Dome contro le minacce aeree e missilistiche per l'Europa

MICHELANGELO SECURITY DOME DEVELOPMENT MARKS FIRST ACHIEVEMENT WITH SUCCESSFUL AIR DEFENCE TEST IN ITALY

Rome, 9 December 2025 - Less than ten days after the official launch of Leonardo's Michelangelo Security Dome, the advanced integrated defence system, the company provides further evidence of its excellence in the field of Radar Sensor technology for Air and Missile Defence, one of the pillars of the Italian Dome.

On 3 December 2025, the first qualification launch for the Italian SAMP/T NG Surface-to-Air Missile was carried out, equipped with Leonardo's latest-generation KRONOS Grand Mobile High Power Radar Sensor. This Radar, based on a multifunction AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) architecture and the most advanced technologies required for this capability, proved its excellent performance by tracking the threat and guiding the missile to intercept at a distance never before achieved with the Eurosam SAMP/T system during land trials.

This performance confirms Leonardo's KRONOS Grand Mobile High Power as the best-in-class Radar Sensor in Europe for air and missile defence systems.

This result, in addition to those previously achieved during international Integrated Air and Missile Defence exercises (Formidable Shield and Pacific Dragon) and ground-based SAM (Surface-to-Air Missile) system live trials, once more testifies the solidity of the path undertaken by Leonardo in developing the Italian Michelangelo Security Dome that ,thanks to its dynamic and open architecture, is the candidate to lead the integration of a Dome against air and missile threats for Europe.
