LEONARDO CONTINUA A RAFFORZARSI NELLA CYBERSECURITY CON L'ACQUISIZIONE DI BECRYPT IN UK
L'operazione per acquisire Becrypt arricchisce il portafoglio di prodotti proprietari, rafforzando il posizionamento di Leonardo nella Trusted Cybersecurity
Londra, 11/03/2026 – Leonardo, attraverso la controllata Leonardo UK Ltd, ha compiuto un ulteriore passo per rafforzarsi nella cybersecurity con la sigla di un accordo vincolante per l'acquisizione della società britannica Becrypt. L'operazione aumenterà fin da subito il posizionamento di Leonardo in UK e le difese cyber dei paesi “Five Eyes” e consoliderà la forte collaborazione tra Leonardo UK Ltd (Leonardo), il Governo britannico e il National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), per proteggere gli ambienti più sensibili del Regno Unito. L'acquisizione si basa inoltre sulla fornitura da parte dell'azienda di soluzioni cyber di nuova generazione in Italia, nella NATO e nel più ampio panorama della difesa europea.
L'iniziativa segna la fase successiva del continuo miglioramento delle soluzioni Zero Trust di Leonardo, sfruttando le capacità all'avanguardia di Becrypt nel trasferimento sicuro dei dati, nell'endpoint security e nel cloud sicuro. L'operazione fa seguito alle recenti partnership industriali e acquisizioni di Leonardo in tutta Europa nel campo della cyber sicurezza, in linea con la strategia industriale dell'azienda: Axiomatics (Attribute-Based Access Control), SSH Communication (Privileged Access Management and Post-Quantum Encryption) e Arbit (Data Diode and Cross Domain Solutions).

Il closing dell'operazione è soggetto ad approvazioni normative ed atteso entro il secondo trimestre 2026. Nell'operazione, Leonardo è stata assistita da PwC come advisor finanziario e da GOP come advisor legale.
Fondata nel 1996 e con sede a Londra, Becrypt Ltd impiega circa 100 persone. L'azienda sviluppa tecnologie progettate per proteggere i dati fino al livello di classificazione Top Secret. Nel suo portafoglio sistemi per operazioni sicure, collaborazioni protette e trasferimento sicuro dei dati unitamente a piattaforme di gestione dei dispositivi mobile, capaci di rispondere alle necessità della Difesa UK per l'integrazione multi-dominio. LEONARDO CONTINUES TO STRENGTHEN ITS CYBERSECURITY SECTOR WITH THE ACQUISITION OF BECRYPT IN THE UK
Agreement to acquire Becrypt to enrich Leonardo's proprietary portfolio reinforcing its position in Trusted Cybersecurity
London, 11/03/2026 - Leonardo, through its UK wholly owned subsidiary Leonardo UK Ltd, has taken a further step to strengthen its role in the cybersecurity sector by entering in a binding agreement for the acquisition of the UK company Becrypt. The acquisition will immediately enhance Leonardo positioning in UK and Five Eyes cyber defences domain and complements the strong existing collaboration between Leonardo UK Ltd (Leonardo), the UK Government and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), to secure the country's most sensitive environments. The operation builds also on the company's delivery of next-generation cyber solutions across Italy, NATO, and the wider European defence landscape.
The initiative marks the next phase of Leonardo's continuous enhancement of its Zero Trust solutions, leveraging Becrypt's cutting-edge capabilities in secure data transfer, endpoint security, data and cloud security. It builds on Leonardo's recent industrial partnerships and acquisitions in cybersecurity across Europe, notably Axiomatics (Attribute-Based Access Control), SSH Communication (Privileged Access Management and Post-Quantum Encryption) and Arbit (Data Diode and Cross Domain Solutions), in line with Leonardo's industrial strategy.

Closing of the Becrypt acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and expected within Q2 2026. During the process, Leonardo was supported by PwC acting as financial advisor and by GOP acting as legal advisor.
