Successful bidder for Sunshine Coast Hospital – Spotless Group’s 12[th] PPP win

The Queensland Government has confirmed that Exemplar Health consortium - comprising the Spotless Group, Capella Capital and Lend Lease - is the successful proponent to deliver the new 738 bed Sunshine Coast University Hospital. The public private partnership project is scheduled to reach financial close on 31 July 2012.

Spotless will participate in design development over the construction period. When construction is completed in 2016, Spotless will provide integrated facilities management and lifecycle asset management services for a period of 25 years.

Josef Farnik, Spotless Group Managing Director and CEO, said that Spotless will draw on its extensive experience in delivering some of Australia’s largest public health infrastructure projects since 2004. It is also the second largest PPP Spotless has won, behind the new Royal Adelaide Hospital, signed in 2011.

“This is Spotless’ 12[th] PPP win. Notably, Spotless will draw on its experience in mobilising facility manager services for several key Queensland contracts, South Australia’s most technologically advanced new Royal Adelaide Hospital and Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital,” he said.

“Spotless has a long history of delivering facility services to significant Queensland projects and provides thousands of employment opportunities across facilities such as the Southbank TAFE PPP, Suncorp and Dairy Farmers stadiums, South East QLD Defence bases and the Queensland University of Technology.”

“Spotless has built an extensive portfolio of 12 PPPs since 2004. It has a solid reputation as the leading operator of social infrastructure PPPs across the healthcare, education, defence and social housing sectors, said Mr Farnik.”

Construction of the new hospital will commence later in 2012 and be completed in 2016.

Spotless will work with its consortium partners throughout the design and construction period and will ramp up to full service delivery at commissioning.
