Bovis Lend Lease consortium reaches contractual close on A$1 billion Royal Children’s Hospital redevelopment

28 November 2007

Victorian Premier, John Brumby, has announced that the Victorian Government has reached contractual close with the Children’s Health Partnership consortium, comprising Bovis Lend Lease, Babcock & Brown and Spotless Group, for the redevelopment of the new A$1 billion Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.

As part of the consortium, Bovis Lend Lease will be responsible for the project management, design and construction of the new world-class facility, which is scheduled to open in 2011.

General Manager of Bovis Lend Lease – Victoria, Mr Geoff Moore, said construction would commence immediately.

“With contractual close now reached, we are looking forward to working with the Victorian Government on one of the largest and most important health projects ever undertaken in Australia’s history.

“The new Royal Children’s Hospital will showcase Bovis Lend Lease’s full design, project management and construction service offering,” Mr Moore said.

On 1 November 2007, Bovis Lend Lease was also appointed to provide building consulting services for Gold Coast University Hospital Project.

Mr Moore said Bovis Lend Lease’s international expertise in the delivery of major healthcare projects had been integral to its recent successes in the health sector.
