Lend Lease announces senior management appointments

Lend Lease today announced a number of senior management appointments.

Dan Labbad has been appointed Group Chief Operating Officer (COO) effective 2 July 2012.

Mr Labbad has worked at Lend Lease for 15 years and has been Chief Executive Officer of the EMEA region since April 2010. Mr Labbad has worked in a range of leadership and operational roles in Australia and abroad in the retail, residential, infrastructure development and investment management businesses, as well as on major projects. A replacement for the role of Chief Executive Officer, EMEA will be announced in due course and a plan will be put in place to ensure a smooth transition.

Craig van der Laan has been appointed Chief Strategy Officer, effective 21 May 2012, reporting to Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Steve McCann.

Mr van der Laan has extensive experience in global public companies, having served in a variety of corporate, commercial and operational roles, most recently as Group President of the Asia Pacific operations of Brambles Group’s CHEP business, and Chief Risk Officer at Leighton Group.

Lend Lease Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Steve McCann, welcomed the appointments saying that they added to the depth and quality of senior management across Lend Lease, including the recent appointments of Denis Hickey, formerly Chief Executive Officer of ING Real Estate, as Managing Director, Development, Australia; and David Saxelby, formerly Chief Executive Officer of Thiess Ltd, as Chief Operating Officer, Australia.

“The depth of experience these appointments bring to Lend Lease will help to further drive our strategic direction to be the leading international property and infrastructure Group,” said Mr McCann.
