Lend Lease Appoints Michael Ullmer to Board

Lend Lease today announced the appointment of Michael Ullmer to its Board of Directors, effective 1 December 2011.

Mr Ullmer currently serves as a Non Executive Director of Fosters Group Limited and was an Executive Director of the National Australia Bank until his retirement in August 2011. He is also a director of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

Mr Ullmer has a degree in mathematics from the University of Sussex. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Senior Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia.

Mr Ullmer brings to the Board extensive strategic, financial and management experience accumulated over his career in international banking and finance. He was the former Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer of the National Australia Bank and played a leading role in driving the Bank’s strategy and navigating the Bank to a position of strength during the global financial crisis.

After an early career with KPMG in London, the UK and then Australia, Michael joined Coopers and Lybrand to lead their Asia Pacific Financial Services Group. In 1997 he joined the Commonwealth Bank of Australia as Group Chief Financial Officer and then Group Executive with responsibility for Institutional and Business Banking.

Lend Lease Chairman, David Crawford welcomed Mr Ullmer to the Board.

“Michael’s 30 year career in international strategy and banking and his financial and executive management experience will be a valuable addition to the Board skill set and with his appointment, I am confident that the Board possesses an appropriate level of skill, expertise and experience to lead the Group on behalf of securityholders, ” said Mr Crawford.
