Für den Inhalt der Mitteilung ist allein der Emittent verantwortlich. —————————————————————————— LEIFHEIT strengthens its position in France Following its 34.6 % investment in the French company Birambeau two years ago, LEIFHEIT is increasing its holding to 60 % effective 1 January 2001. With turnover of c. DM 50 million, Birambeau is one of the leading suppliers of kitchen organisers in the French market. The company has a production facility in Chablis, with c. 165 employees in total. LEIFHEIT has had its own sales subsidiaries in France for almost 30 years. For the bathroom furnishings division, the subsidiary is spirella s.a.r.l. in Toulouse, with turnover of DM 30 million (1999). The household products division subsidiary is based in Strasbourg and reported turnover of DM 19 million in 1999. LEIFHEIT and Birambeau will form a joint sales company for household products.
