Aircore Drilling Commences at Rockford Project

Legend Mining Limited (“Legend”) is pleased to announce that aircore drilling has commenced at its Rockford Project in the Fraser Range of Western Australia. The aircore programme has been designed to complement Legend’s innovative EM surveys with the objective of identifying prospective geological settings for massive nickel-copper orebodies.

This drill programme will comprise 50 holes for ~3,500m and focus on six areas in the northern portion of Rockford. These areas were selected from interpretation of detailed aeromagnetic/gravity datasets and EM survey results. The aim of the drilling is to provide information on the regolith profile, basement lithologies and the lithogeochemical signature of the basement rocks. The programme is estimated to take 2-3 weeks to complete with assay results expected 3-4 weeks later.

The geological and assay results from the aircore drilling, in conjunction with the current moving loop electromagnetic surveys over Areas L, M, N and O are expected to generate targets for future RC/diamond drilling.
