Press Release

Leclanché and Talesun present (high-end) solution for the storage of solar
energy

Cooperation on storage technologies bears fruit

Munich, 15 June 2012 - Appearing together at Intersolar 2012 at Stand 246
in Hall A1, the Swiss energy storage systems specialist Leclanché (SIX
Swiss Exchange: LECN) and Talesun, a leading international manufacturer of
high quality solar cells and modules, present a complete product range for
the intelligent storage of solar energy.

Four months after announcing their cooperation, Talesun and Leclanché now
present a product range for the efficient production and storage of solar
energy. With the HS 3200 battery module, the newly developed HS range
offers a high-end storage solution for photovoltaic systems aimed at
optimising and increasing private consumption of solar energy.

The ceramic separator developed by Leclanché after 20 years of research
guarantees high thermal and electrical safety. The HS 3200 also benefits
from this. In particular, the solution is characterised by its high cycle
stability which makes an above average battery lifetime possible. As one of
the first manufacturers in Europe, Leclanché will begin commercial
production for this novel lithium ion battery in July 2012.

Thanks to its lithium titanate technology, the HS 3200 storage module
achieves 15,000 charge and discharge cycles with an overall capacity of 3.2
kWh and 100 percent depth of discharge. The lifecycle is thus geared to
rooftop photovoltaic systems.

'Our storage system is designed so that the client can meet his storage
needs with security and flexibility. In particular, we have paid attention
to ensure that the number of cycles is not set too low, allowing the client
to place full confidence in the product, even where the demands on the
battery are high. This high quality standard is in line with that of the
modules of our partner, Talesun, together with whom we are able to provide
our client a convincing total package,' Dr Ulrich Ehmes, CEO of Leclanché,
explains.

This is the second time Talesun has been present at Intersolar Europe. The
company, founded in 2010 and present on the German market since 2011,
focuses on fully-automated production processes and recently received the
VDE Institute Quality Seal as one of the world's three module manufacturers
for its TP660P product line. 'I am pleased to have a strong partner at our
side with Leclanché. Storage technologies are the key for the success of
the energy change and provide interesting opportunities, especially for
installers, for new business models,' says Joachim Simonis, Managing
Director of Talesun Solar Germany GmbH. 'It is important to us to be able
to satisfy our clients with innovative and high quality products - this
also includes a comprehensive service offer. Especially as a young, rapidly
growing company, we strive to do lots of things better than our
competitors. We let ourselves be measured by our promises.'

About Leclanché

Leclanché specializes in the production of tailor-made energy storage
solutions. Leclanché's strategy is to expand its position as one of the
leading lithium-ion cell producers and solution providers for renewable
energy storage systems in Europe. Its initial strategic priority is
stationary home electric energy storage applications and expansion into the
stationary industrial and grid electricity storage markets. Through
participation in research consortia focusing on off-road and automotive
applications, Leclanché is positioned to take advantage of new market
opportunities.

Through a licensed ceramic separator technology and focus on
lithium-titanate technology, Leclanché manufactures large-format
lithium-ion cells optimized for safety and cycle-life in a fully automated
production process. Leclanché currently operates a fully automated pilot
production line with an installed annual production capacity of up to 4 MWh
in large-format lithium-ion cells. By the end of the second quarter of
2012, Leclanché expects to commence commercial production at its first mass
production line with an installed annual capacity of up to 76 MWh in
lithium-titanate cells.

Leclanché was founded in 1909 in Yverdon-les-Bains. Through the integration
of a spin-off from the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft in 2006, the company evolved
from a traditional battery manufacturer to become a leading developer and
manufacturer of lithium-ion cells in Europe. Leclanché currently employs
120 staff and is listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange (LECN). The company has
its headquarters in Yverdon-les-Bains (Switzerland) and production
facilities in Willstätt (Germany). For more information, please visit the
