Lloyd Fonds Schiffsportfolio II: Further ship fund to be retailed via Deutsche Bank
Lloyd Fonds Aktiengesellschaft / Alliance/Agreement
Release of a Corporate-announcement, transmitted by DGAP - a company of
EquityStory AG.
The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement.
• The largest fund in Lloyd Fonds' history with an equity placement volume
of USD 180 million
• Fleet fund investing in six container ships
• Broad diversification across three size classes and with varying initial
charter durations with three renowned charterers
Hamburg, March 20, 2007. On March 19, Deutsche Bank started placing the
Lloyd Fonds Schiffsportfolio II as the main retail partner for this ship
fund. This marks the second time within a short space of time that the bank
is working with the Hamburg-based fund arranger. Says Dr. Torsten Teichert,
CEO of Lloyd Fonds AG with satisfaction: 'The fact that Lloyd Fonds has
again been able to secure Deutsche Bank as its main retail partner for a
fund testifies to the success of our previous relations and the solid
design underlying our products.' Demand for one of the earlier funds, Lloyd
Fonds Schiffsportfolio I, in January 2006 was so strong that placement was
completed in full in less than six weeks. 'We are expecting similar demand
for Lloyd Fonds Schiffsportfolio II in view of the sustained strong
interest on the part of investors in good ship products,' Teichert adds.
Lloyd Fonds Schiffsportfolio II has an equity placement volume of USD 180
million. With an investment volume of some USD 516 million, it is the
biggest ever arranged by Lloyd Fonds and figures amongst the largest
closed-end ship fund in the entire segment. 'As a stock listed arranger,
Lloyd
Fonds is able to implement such a volume. With Lloyd Fonds Schiffsportfolio
II, we have put together an investment product which offers investors
intelligent diversification in the shipping segment in a single product.
Lloyd Fonds Schiffsportfolio II is investing in six container ships of
different sizes. The MS 'Annina Schulte' and the MS 'Valentina Schulte'
have a transportation capacity of 2,824 TEU (Twenty Foot Equivalent Unit),
the MS 'Memphis' and the MS 'Chicago' are 5,085 TEU in size while the giant
container vessels MS 'Lloyd Don Giovanni' and MS 'Lloyd Don Carlos' each
have a capacity of 8,204 TEU. All six ships already have charters with
terms of between 3.5 to 9 years with investment-grade charterers Rudolf A.
Oetker KG, A.P. Møller-Maersk A/S and CMA CGM. The average term of the
initial charter is around 7 years, thus shielding the portfolio from
changes in the charter market for the time being. The fund is denominated
in US dollars.
