Repositioning as Schifffahrts AG to be further implemented

Hamburg, September 3, 2015. In the first half of 2015 Lloyd Fonds AG generated EUR 0.7 million in consolidated net profit (first half of 2014: EUR 0.2 million). Compared with the first half of last year, sales were up by approx. 20 percent, to reach EUR 5.8 million. This positive result is chiefly attributable to recurring proceeds generated by active management of the equity volume, amounting to EUR 1.7 billion. Moreover, in the field of new business, the group of companies generated further substantial revenues by implementing two projects with institutional investors. Aside from sales, the equity ratio was boosted to approx. 64 percent (previous-year period: 59 percent). The Company’s liquidity position also saw a further improvement: cash & cash equivalents were up by EUR 2.4 million year-on-year, to EUR 8.3 million. For the current financial year 2015, the company anticipates a positive consolidated net profit. Buttressed on this sound financial status, Lloyd Fonds AG is working on repositioning itself as a listed shipping company.

The company was also successful in extending its cooperation with institutional investors. For one thing, Lloyds Fonds AG structured and organized the refinancing of a hotel portfolio held by an Austrian hotel group of note. For another, the Company was engaged in realizing and selling a new city-owned home for apprentices located in Hamburg.

This year the Lloyd Fonds Group will be celebrating its 20 th corporate anniversary and is thus considered to be one of the most experienced providers of investments in alternative real assets. Since its inception, Lloyd Fonds AG has launched a total of 106 funds in which over 53,000 clients – including 38,702 from the shipping segment and 5,136 from the real estate segment – have invested an average subscription sum of approx. EUR 30,000 euros. Over 50 percent of the Company’s clients are younger than 65. Of these, some 15,000 clients are between 50 and 60 years of age and thus belong to the most affluent age group in Germany.

In the period under review, the funds managed by the Company made over EUR 27 million in payouts to private investors, generating an average return of approx. 1.6 percent on total equity under management by Lloyd Fonds AG.
