Contract for 12,800 TEU ocean giants signed – Lloyd Fonds AG benefiting from shipping boom

Hamburg, June 24, 2008. Lloyd Fonds AG has made use of the favorable
situation in the ship markets and sold two 12,800 TEU container ships to
French container shipping company CMA CGM. In addition, a package of a
further two ocean giants has been chartered to the world’s third largest
container shipping company for a period of 12 years. The contracts for both
transactions have now been signed, with Lloyd Fonds and Hamburg shipping
company NSC achieving substantial profits on the sale of the two ships.

'It would be almost negligent of us not to make use of opportunities such
as these when the shipping industry is booming the way it is at the
moment,' said Dr. Torsten Teichert, CEO of Lloyd Fonds AG, explaining the
reasons for the sale.

The two 'megaboxers' have been chartered at a rate of around USD 59,500 per
day over a period of twelve years and are to be placed in a closed-end fund
in the second half of the year. These two ships are characterized by a
particularly favorable price which is well below the current ordering
prices.

The 12,800 TEU container ships are two out of a total of eight ocean giants
which Lloyd Fonds AG ordered in Korea in 2007 together with Hamburg
shipping company NSC. The ships are scheduled for delivery as of 2010.

Lloyd Fonds AG with a plentiful asset pipeline
All told, Lloyd Fonds AG has over 20 ships in the pipeline, including four
3,600 TEU container ships and eight 92,500 dwt bulkers.
