HAITEC AG – Figures for the third quarter confirming forecast for the second half of the year. Rising order receipts and capacity utilization levels resulting in top and bottom line growth.

HAITEC AG's sales and earnings in the third quarter (April 1, 2006 - June 30, 2006) confirm the forecasts for the current fiscal year as a whole (October 1, 2005 - September 30, 2006). On the basis of pro-forma Group figures - including autinform AG and autinform dms GmbH, which were acquired in fiscal 2005/06, and subject to any IFRS adjustments which may be necessary, the HAITEC Group posted sales of € 5.4 million in the third quarter (up from € 4.7 million in the second quarter of this fiscal year) in tandem with EBIT of € 0.26 million (reversing the loss of € 0.8 million in the second quarter of this fiscal year). This constitutes an increase in sales of 86 % compared with the third quarter of fiscal 2004/05 (from € 2.9 million to € 5.4 million) and an improvement in EBIT of 144 % (swing away from a loss of € 0.59 million to profit of € 0.26 million).

As a result, total revenues for the first nine months of the current fiscal year came to € 15.6 million, marking an increase of 44 % over the year-ago figure of € 10.8 million, which does not include the consolidation of autinform AG and autinform dms GmbH. Spurred by the favorable performance in the third quarter, the loss at the EBIT level for the first nine months was reduced by € 0.26 million to € 0.47 million. This constitutes an improvement of 55 % over the year-ago loss of € 1.04 million.

The favorable performance in the third quarter is due to an increase in order receipts, improved capacity utilization levels and the effects of the rationalization and cost-cutting measures.

With its upbeat bottom and top-line performance, the HAITEC Group managed to post a quarterly profit for the first time in spite of the fact that the second half of the year was previously weaker than the first half for seasonal reasons. This was primarily due to an increase in capacity utilization levels in the System Integration division from 62% in Q2 to 79% in Q3 and in the Product Lifecycle Management division from 46% in Q2 to 64% in Q3 after weaker-than-expected performance in the first half of the year. In addition, order receipts and order backlog matched expectations, while the rationalization and cost-cutting measures implemented are beginning to unleash the desired effects. With new project business successfully gained and given sustained favorable capacity utilization levels, this positive trend should also continue in the fourth quarter of the current fiscal year.
