KONECRANES PLC'S SHARE SUBSCRIPTIONS BASED ON STOCK OPTIONS

KONECRANES PLC STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE December 17, 2009 at 10.15 a.m. KONECRANES PLC'S SHARE SUBSCRIPTIONS BASED ON STOCK OPTIONS A total of 23,200 of Konecranes Plc's new shares were subscribed for under the company's stock option plans as follows: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Stock option right | Shares | Subscription price | | | | (EUR/share) | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | 2001B-series | 23,200 | 8.50 | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The full subscription price of EUR 197,200 will be entered in the paid-in capital. Following the related subscriptions, the number of Konecranes Plc shares will increase to 61,872,920. This number includes the shares held by the company. The shares subscribed for under the stock options were registered in the Trade Register on December 17, 2009 on the basis of which the new shares will establish shareholder rights. Konecranes will apply for their listing, together with its existing shares, on the Main List of the NASDAQ OMX Helsinki. Trading in the new shares will begin on or around December 18, 2009. Stock options issued under Konecranes Plc's ongoing stock option plans entitle their holders to subscribe for a total of 2,793,400 shares.
