  • Drilling has commenced at the Livingstone Gold Project

  • The initial 2000m of RC drilling will focus on

  • Homestead, which hosts a JORC2004 inferred gold resource of 49,900 oz

  • Winja, where historic drilling hit several high-grade intersections including 18m @ 7.85 g/t

  • An auger geochemical program over Livingstone’s Find is also planned, this is a significant gold-in-soil anomaly over an area with multiple historic mine workings.

Kingston Resources Limited (ASX: KSN) (the Company or Kingston) is pleased to announce that it has received all approvals and has commenced drilling at the Livingstone Gold Project (Figure 1), located northwest of Meekatharra in Western Australia. Livingstone is an advanced exploration project with an existing JORC2004 Inferred mineral resource of 49,900 ounces[1] and several high-grade drilling intersections that indicate excellent potential for additional discoveries. Kingston holds an option to acquire 75% of Livingstone, which can be exercised at any time up until 21 December 2017.

The Company has received Department of Mines approvals to commence drilling at Homestead and Winja (Figure 2). Initial drilling is intended to test the high-grade chute structures at both prospects, with holes at Homestead intended to infill the higher-grade zone of near-surface mineralisation and also extend the deposit to the east. Drilling at Winja will concentrate on testing interpreted strike extensions of the high-grade chute to the southeast and northwest of previous intersections.

“We’re excited to be on the ground at Livingstone” commented Managing Director Andrew Corbett. “This is the next stage of our exploration strategy. At Livingstone, we are planning to upgrade the Homestead resource to JORC2012 standard while also extending mineralisation there and at Winja, the results from this initial drill program are expected in April, with a second drill program to follow. Approvals for this second program are expected shortly. In addition, we are very excited about the scale of the Livingstone’s Find anomaly, and we hope to have targets here ready to drill later in the year”.

Homestead Resource

Mineralisation at Homestead is associated with steep north-dipping quartz-carbonate-pyrite veining at the contact between mafics and ultramafics of the Narracoota Formation. Lodes thickness vary from one to five metres thick with local thickening to over 10m (Garland, 2014)[2] . In places the mineralisation is at surface, with a supergene gold blanket developed principally on the hanging-wall side of the lode position.

Drilling at Homestead to date has been relatively shallow, with the majority of holes testing zones less than 100m below surface. The interpretation suggests an easterly plunge, which leaves mineralisation open along strike at depth in several areas. A composite long section of drill results showing this plunge interpretation is in Figures 3 and 4 below.

Winja Prospect

The Winja prospect includes some spectacular intersections such as 18m @ 7.85g/t Au from 68m in hole TRC070 and 13m @ 3.71g/t Au from 52m (including 5m @ 6.08g/t) in TRC094[2] . Kingston has interpreted these high grades within a discrete chute plunging shallowly to the west-northwest, and this interpretation will be tested by drilling step-out holes over a strike length of approximately 200m. Although mineralisation identified to date at Winja is deeper than that at Homestead, the high tenor of gold grades make it an attractive advanced exploration target.

Livingstone’s Find

The Livingstone’s Find and Livingstone North prospects sit within a large gold anomaly defined by conventional soil sampling. Previously announced grab samples (Figure 5) taken from two lines of old workings at Livingstone’s Find returned gold values as high as 75g/t Au[3] , confirming the presence of high-grade gold mineralisation in an east-west structure with evidence of strong structural deformation.

KSN intends to test and refine the soil anomaly (Figure 6) with a regional auger program, which will avoid the possibility of samples being contaminated by material shedding down-hill from historic workings. This work combined with surface mapping is expected to result in targets for RC drilling later in the year.

About Kingston Resources

Kingston Resources is a metals exploration company. The Company holds an attractive portfolio of lithium exploration tenements covering four key project areas. In Western Australia, the Mt Cattlin and Greenbushes projects are adjacent or near existing lithium mines. In the Northern Territory, the Bynoe project area is home to some exciting new discoveries and the Arunta project lies within a significant pegmatite field. In addition, the Livingstone Gold Project holds a 50koz inferred resource and is the site of a number of high grade historic intersections. The Company is well funded to rapidly advance its exploration projects, with the initial focus being the Mt Cattlin, Bynoe, and Arunta lithium projects, alongside commencement of work on the Livingstone Gold Project.
