Kesko's comparable sales decreased in January by 1.0% - sales increased in the
building and home improvement trade and the car trade

Kesko Group's sales in January 2016 totalled €620.5 million. In comparable terms
excluding Anttila, sales decreased by 1.0% in local currencies.

"In January, Kesko's sales increased in the car trade and in the building and
home improvement trade. In the grocery trade, negative price trend continued,"
says Kesko's President and CEO Mikko Helander.

The sales of Kesko's grocery trade in January were €336.1 million, a decrease of
3.7% in local currencies. There was one delivery day less than in the previous
year.

The sales of the home improvement and speciality goods trade in January were
€196.5 million, and comparable sales excluding Anttila decreased by 1.1% in
local currencies. In Finland, comparable sales were down by 2.8%. Outside
Finland, comparable sales grew by 0.9% in local currencies. The sales of the
building and home improvement trade increased by 1.4% in local currencies.

The sales of the car trade in January were €88.0 million, up 12.7% from the
previous year.

Change, %, indicates the change compared to the corresponding period of the

In January 2016, the number of selling days in Kesko's wholesale in Finland was
19, which was one less than in the previous year.
