Kendrion acquires KDI Plastiques in France

Kendrion announces that it reached agreement upon acquiring the activities of KDI Plastiques in France with branches in Bordeauxand Toulouse as of 1 October 2007, in order to strengthen the activities of the business area Vink. The company is active in trade and distribution of semifinished plastic products, employs 14 people and has sales of EUR 7 million. KDI is part of Klöckner Distribution Industrielle.

The business area Vink (turnover 2006 approximately EUR 300 million) is active in 14 European countries, among others in France. The strategy of Vink is focused on further development as a pan-European player that strives for market-leading positions in the countries in which it is active. Within this framework the company emphasises further strengthening of the activities in Germany and France. The acquisition of KDI Plastiques fits into this strategy.

The activities of KDI Plastiques will be integrated into the activities of Vink France shortly, with which synergy benefits can be realised. This acquisition reinforces Vink s position in the South of France significantly and directly contributes to the profit development of Kendrion. It concerns an asset transaction, the purchase price amounts to approximately EUR 1.5 million.

As announced earlier, Kendrion expects to announce further concrete results concerning the execution of her strategy Focused acceleration before the end of the year.
