Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

The registrant, Kemper Corporation (“Company”), announced on December 22, 2017 that George “Chip” D. Dufala, Jr. resigned from his position as Property & Casualty Division President, effective December 29, 2017, to take another position within the insurance industry. The Company was notified of the resignation on December 18, 2017, and has commenced a search for a replacement for Mr. Dufala.
